1. Site and Earth Work
Involves establishing the grades and elevations for arena site, measuring the current grade and comparing it to the finished grade, checking the site's contour of the land (including how the land naturally drains), checking the subsoils for proper make-up and compaction levels (to ensure the subsoil is solid and fill material is appropriate for base construction. Phase 1 finsihes by crowing and compacting the subbase (to ensure proper drainage).
2.& 3. Install the Gravel Base and Final Footing
Phase II involves installing the gravel base, which serves as a separation barrier between the subbase and the final riding surface. This ensures you have a solid foundation and minimizes future deterioration of your riding surface.
Phase III is where selection of and installation of the final footing (riding surface) occurs. Depths range from 2-3" (recommended for sand/sand fiber mixes) or 3"-5" for synthetic and dust-free footing.
*LASER GRADING IS USED DURING ALL 3 STEPS!*
